What are the best spyware removal tools?

February 27, 2010 · Posted in Spyware · Comment

Spyware is a terrible problem for everyone who accesses to the Internet. Spyware can be an annoyance, but it also can be more serious and cause an epidemic which causes a loss of important information.

Many people are not aware of the great danger spyware can cause. If spyware settles in your computer system your personal information such as credit cards numbers, passwords, or important files can be transmitted to other people. You can pick up spyware through different Internet sites. Even reading emails is a potential risk for getting spyware on your computer.

Once this information is compromised you are not safe anymore because you don’t know what they are going to do with all the information. They can make purchases with your credit card and the only thing you can do is to block your credit card but by then you may have lost a lot of money. If your passwords are stolen for different sites you use, it can cause havoc on your life.

To prevent being infected, it is necessary that you install the best spyware tools on your computer because it can be just as dangerous as a virus. Detecting spyware is very important and it is best you install at least two anti- spyware programs on your computer.

Every program has its advantages and disadvantages but if you have the right knowledge about spyware and the tools you can use to combat it is the best protection. If you know how you can prevent spyware and know which actions are dangerous where spyware will settle in your system, you can avoid a lot of problems. Today for Internet users, anti-spyware software is a must.

There are three important things you need to keep in mind before you install anti-spyware programs:

*If you want to install free anti-spyware software, investigate the site’s privacy policy first. Be sure the software is safe and read reviews in professional computer magazines.

*Search for software that is compatible with your operating system. If your operating system is Windows be sure that this works with Windows XP but also with Windows Vista.

*Don’t open emails from unknown sources or senders which you don’t trust.

There are paid and free anti-spyware on the market but in order to make your choice it is necessary that you pay attention to these next aspects:

*Can you download the software easily and can you install the program without consulting a book?

*Is the program easy to use and is there a feature for an automatic update?

*Does the program prevent spyware or can you only detect the

How Does Antivirus software work?

February 26, 2010 · Posted in AVG · 1 Comment

If you want to make sure that you’re protected from viruses, you should get some antivirus software. This software can offer peace of mind, even for experienced computer users who would be unlikely to open a simple virus.

Antivirus software works in two ways. Firstly, it has a big ‘dictionary’ of viruses, allowing it to scan files and flag any that are known to be viral. Secondly, the software monitors the system for any suspicious activity. One method involves creating decoy files that are hidden from the user and monitoring them to see if they are altered – if they are, then it was almost certainly a virus.

The two giants of the antivirus industry are McAfee and Norton. They are both commercial software based on yearly subscriptions, and at this point there’s little to choose between them – some people swear by one, but just as many will swear by the other. However, both are quite expensive, especially if you buy them as part of the complete security suite.

If you want a free antivirus program, the best around is widely considered to be AVG (the Free Edition). It’s a small but effective antivirus application, popular firstly for being free and secondly for using hardly any system resources to run. AVG is capable of running very fast, even on older computers.

For people who don’t actually want to download and install antivirus software, but just want to quickly make sure that they don’t have a virus, TrendMicro’s HouseCall website is a good solution (you can find it at housecall.trendmicro.com). When you go to the website and click ‘Scan Now’, it will scan your computer for viruses right then and there, without you needing to install anything – and best of all, it’s free. While it is a very good service, however, you shouldn’t rely on it completely, as it is a bad idea to use a computer with no installed antivirus protection.

Picking PLR Articles That Provide Useful Information

February 26, 2010 · Posted in Kaspersky · Comment

The concept of article writing is to provide the readers with useful, honest and entertaining information, on topics the readers are interested in. When writing an article, the authors are branding themselves as ‘The Expert’ on the chosen topic. The end result of publishing articles to the internet is the articles will drive an automatic and continuous stream of traffic to the author’s website.

Unfortunately, although there are people who find a great deal of pleasure in writing articles, this can be a daunting task for some. And this is where private label content (PLC) comes into play. PLC generally refers to articles, e-books and manuals where the contents are free to change. They are very useful to overcome writer’s block and time restraints. Making use of private label contents can help you project a polished, professional appearance to your visitors while still giving you control of the information presented.

However you will need to pick the correct articles to make your sites successful. Not all PLR articles are created equal! Sometimes it is obvious that an article seems a bit ‘lightweight’. Publishing articles on the Internet means there is not an editor to scrutinize the details and say yes or no. There are PLR articles and ebooks that only include the basic information that everyone but the man from Mars knows.

Good private label articles or ebooks should contain useful information where there is something tor learn. They should not only be used to get backlinks from article directories or to introduce a new site to search engines. For example, everyone knows that Fido needs to be fed, watered and exercised properly to be a happy doggie. But does everyone know the symptoms of a certain disease that particular breed is prone to and what to do about it? If you can provide information such as this in your article, you will soon have a happy readership.

As another example, there are various private label articles that provide information about virus protection. Now it seems that everyone knowns that an antivirus software is essential to a computer’s ability to fend off viruses and other malicious programs. A good PLR article should contain useful tips or info such as to list some antivirus software (e.g. AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition, Kaspersky Anti-Virus, etc) and why the software are recommended.

Quality PLR articles tend to be easier to modify because the contents are usually presented in an organized order. For instance, “Fighting off Viruses: Advancements in Antivirus Software Suites” is a PLR article that presents a list of several antivirus software. The article contains several sections: an introduction that covers some reasons why protecting a PC from viruses is getting harder, a few simple steps to protect against virus threats and some recommended antivirus software.

Now you can do some modifications easily such as adding some features for each antivirus software presented on the article. You may also recommend another antivirus software that you are using and tell the readers your own experience with it. This will help the readers to make the right decision when choosing an antivirus software.

In summary, good private label contents should provide useful information. People should be able to learn something or get ideas from the contents. By creating useful information you will become a resource for other websites that may link to you, providing your site with valuable hyperlinks. Information is a great way to show your visitors that you have something worthwhile to impart and they will be more likely to recommend you to others.

Protecting your Computer the Best Way Through Kaspersky Internet Security

February 25, 2010 · Posted in Kaspersky · Comment

The internet is one of the most useful tools ever invented. It allows people to communicate at a very fast and very cheap rate. With the internet, people have been able to communicate through instant messengers, through emails and through VoIP for free or at a very low price compared to conventional telephones.

The internet also allowed new ways to do business. Not only are businesses today able to provide better services to their clients, but they can now reach out to the world and introduce their products or services and get more potential customers.

With the internet, you will now be able to do almost anything right in the comforts of your own home. You can go purchase your groceries online, you can shop for shirts and pants through websites, and you can even play online multiplayer games with your friends without having to leave the comforts of your own home.

The accessibility of the internet provides so many advantages. It literally connects people wherever they are in the world. However, the internet also has its disadvantages. Since you will be doing business or purchase items online, you will be leaving your personal and financial information in your computer. You may think that your information is kept safe in your computer hard disk but you should think again.

There are people who know how to develop programs to access your computer illegally. These people are called hackers. They develop viruses, spywares, adwares and other malicious programs just to harass and steal from people using the internet. Once these programs enter your computer, all your files in your computer can be accessed by these hackers. They will be able to know all about your computer and they can steal your identity.

It is a fact that many people have lost a lot of money because of hackers. They didn’t know where these people accessed their personal and financial information. Your computer is a good source, especially if it is always connected to the internet and has no proper security software to protect it from these malicious programs.

You can easily compare it to leaving your house open with all your credit cards, financial information, and personal information inside. These people can easily enter your house and obtain all the information and use it to steal money from you.

Because of this, you will need a form of security especially if you use the internet on a regular basis. What you need is a program called internet security to be installed in your computer. One internet security program developer is called Kaspersky.

The Kaspersky Internet Security is one of the most used and widely know internet security program in the market today. It is a very popular and effective program that is able to effectively detect and prevent malicious programs from entering your computer. With this kind of software, you will be able to protect yourself from identity thieves and malicious programs circulating the internet.

Here are some of the main advantages and key features of the latest Kaspersky Internet Security software that your computer should have:

• Protection from all internet threats

• Firewall for additional protection

• Updatable virus definition

• Effective antivirus software

• Free technical support

• Protection from network attacks and system hijacking

• Programmable spam filtration system

• System rollback

• Popup blocking software

These are some of the things you need to install in your computer and the latest Kaspersky Internet Security software has them all. So, the next time you are considering to install a program to protect your PC, you should consider Kaspersky Internet Security.

How to prevent your PC from being infected with spyware – Part 8

February 24, 2010 · Posted in Spyware · Comment

Spyware has got to be one of the most frustrating things about owning a computer. When downloading programs and applications from the internet, it can be difficult to know if spyware is tagging along with it. Once that spyware is in your computer, it can be difficult to track down and get rid of it.

If you don’t know what Spyware is, it is basically a type of computer software that is downloaded to your computer, usually when you download something from the internet, and takes over your computer much like a virus does. The difference is that Spyware is in the form of advertisements, and are more annoying and frustrating than harmful. Spyware can take form of tool bars that show up in your Internet Browser (IE, Firefox, etc) and often times cause pop-ups to show up on your computer for no apparent reason.

Sometimes Spyware shows up in the form of fake computer messages in pop-up boxes, with yes or no options just like a real option from your own computer. It seems that no matter what answer you click, yes or no, it isn’t actually a real button and most of the time takes you to their web page to try and sell you their product or service.

My first experience with spyware was when I downloaded a little guy named the “Bonzi Buddy”. A purple little gorilla that would sit on the corner of your computer screen. And I tell you, after I downloaded that program, my computer quickly filled up with advertisements, popups, and spam. At the time, I wasn’t sure what to do, as I wasn’t as acquainted with technology as I am now. I had no choice but to completely restore my computer to factory condition which completely wipes out your computer of all your stored information and files. But it had to be done.

Later down the road, I had downloaded a program and sure enough in comes the spyware. Knowing that there had to be something else I could do, I asked around and searched the net for a solution to my spyware problem. Sure enough, I found an answer with a friend of mine, and he introduced me to AdAware.

AdAware is a program that scans your hard drive (as well as external devices you may happen to have) for spyware, adware, and anything similar. It completely cleans your computer of these annoyances, and your computer is cured of their frustrating pop-ups. You can get a copy for free at download.com the only thing you pay for is if you want the paid upgrade. Which is completely worth it, by the way. It’s quick, easy, and even if you don’t know whether or not your computer is loaded with spyware, it will search it out and find it no problem. I highly recommend this program to anybody that has a computer that’s been acting a little “funny” lately.

Spyware doesn’t have to ruin your day completely – fight back with AdAware 2007, and give it the wrath it deserves.

Preventing spyware infection: Safe browsing tips – Part 1

February 23, 2010 · Posted in Spyware · Comment

When the Internet and World Wide Web were originally conceived, no one was able to anticipate the hassles and problems that have arisen in the past, such as spyware, viruses, worms, and phishing. In order to prevent spyware from infecting a family or office computer, one must be as aggressive as the spyware. Safe browsing and keeping a watch for security issues are a must.

The first and most important step in safe browsing is to use a web browser that is as secure as it is useful. If you use Internet Explorer, consider switching to a browser with fewer vulnerabilities, such as Mozilla Firefox (http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/ en-US/firefox/) or Apple Safari for Windows (http://www.apple.com/safari/) . Because there is no web browser without vulnerabilities, be sure to download and apply the latest patch as soon as they become available.

In addition to a secure browser, there are plugins available to aid in safe browsing. Due to Mozilla’s extension architecture, most of these are easy to find for the Firefox browser. Notable plugins are Adblock Plus, which blocks many annoying ads that are often tied to spyware, and the Google Toolbar for Firefox, which can detect web forgeries and help prevent phishing.

Despite using a secure web browser and plugins, you are the most important defense against spyware. In most cases, the amount of spyware that can possibly affect your computer is very related to your web browsing habits. Visiting shady websites such as websites related to software piracy or “warez,” hacking, or pornography is the easiest way to invite spyware to commandeer your computer. By simply avoiding these sites you have already won half of the battle. Also, make certain that anyone using your computer understands how to avoid spyware as well. When installing new software, be sure to know exactly what you are installing, who made it, and the trustworthiness of where you are downloading it. Shady programs often come with keyloggers or adware, sometimes even tampering with critical system files and not providing a clear method of uninstallation, such as an entry in the Add/Remove Programs utility. Lastly, be sure to occasionally check the address bar when browsing, to make sure that the link a friend just gave you is what they say it is, and not a forgery.

In the event that you already have spyware, or simply wish to find any on your computer, Spybot Search and Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.o rg) is often hailed as the best tool for ridding of spyware. In addition to removing spyware, it is also capable of restoring what you delete, in case you accidently delete something that was only listed as spyware.

It seems that as long as there is a large target on the Internet, i.e. homes and businesses, then there will always be spyware. Spyware is not an entity that is simply out of sight and out of mind. The way to ridding and preventing spyware begins, and ends, with you.
