Data entry jobs: Online scam? – Part 1

February 18, 2010 · Posted in Scams · Comment

Well sorry to say that I have fell for the Data Entry Jobs online, also but I thought the cost was justified because if they are sending me the materials to work with the least I could do it pay for the shipping and handling until I received a directory of companies that may need people that work from home also known as telecommuters. I had to realize that even if the company wants me to work from home the company should pay all of the expenses. I mean I am saving them money by using my home office, my telephone, my fax, my printer, my scanner and my copier.

I believe that in the near future more self-employed and small businesses will outsource their services to India and other foreign countries because we are starting to believe that we can get more work done at 1/3 of the cost. I don’t understand that issue either because if all of the companies outsource their employees, then we will not have money to buy the products or services here but I guess that is another topic to write about. I truly believe that the outsourcing fad is the reason for so many online scams, because the website owners know that a lot of Americans are getting laid off and they know a lot of mothers enjoy working from home because they don’t have to ask for permission to take off from work to attend a school PTA meeting, have lunch with their husband, wash clothes or do whatever they need to do without any questions from the employer.

If we would just stop and think about what we need to do to become a home worker and the key is advertise and market yourself to find legitimate employment that will not only send you the materials free but also actually pay you for your time.

I tell everyone that is interested in working from home or starting a small business that it is hard work. If you want something easy then get a job onsite because trust me you will spend a lot more hours if you work for yourself but it will pay off in the end.

In my opinion, a lot of employers are not comfortable with paying employees an hourly rate when they work at home because they do not trust that the hours are true hours worked. I sometimes hire reviewers and they will tell me that it took 1 hour to write a 60 word article. I know that is not true but how can I prove it. I have to allow for article content development and proofreading.

I think that Data Entry would be a great legitimate job to do from home if companies would see the value of it and offer a flat rate for documents that way they will not feel like the employee will over charge for hours.

Data entry jobs: Online scam?

February 11, 2010 · Posted in Scams · Comment

Today there are a lot of “online jobs”, i call them online scams. I like many other people have been striving everyday to find that break so they could be with their children and to stop working for other people and most importantly to work in the comforts of their own home.

When looking on the web it’s kind of hard to weed through the good the bad and the ugly so to speak. I myself have seen the good side and the bad side of this so called online world. THe problem i had is that i didn’t do enough research on the place before i gave in and let them have my money! You see all the glitz and glamour while they have paid slim to nothing to make this ad to lure you in and of course your the one going through hard times and you give in. But let me tell you now DO NOT GET SUCKERED INTO IT. You should not have to pay to do a job someone else wants you to do. Its just like in the real work when you get hired for a job, do they ask you for a cash advance or a downpayment of somesort…. HELL NO so don’t do it for anyone else.

Now i have had the privelage to find an online job that has had its benefits. It is called WEST AT HOME and you are actually working for real companies, although its not like you are owning your own business, but you are owning and taking charge of your own time. Which is important to me. I also came across a company called WARM SPIRIT and there you can become which i have, the CEO of your own business and i have already supplemented my income on the job i was working before all of this occured. SO of course i QUIT and now i am working from home with WEST AT HOME and WARM SPIRIT and i couldn’t be more happier.

I’m not trying to sell you anything, i am just trying to let you know that i feel your pain when it comes to searching online for real jobs and enlighten you on the real ones that i have discovered.

Also if you find a particular company that you are interested in please do your research, don’t invest in it because they say you can make “X” amount of money in a day! My suggestion is to go to www.ripoffreport.com and type in the company name at the top right corner and if it is a rip off you will know it because there will be a dozen articles explaining their experience and usually if it is within good standing then of course it will not be on there. Also if you really want to work with this company and do your research you can find out where their central office is from and call that city’s bureau to find out if it is legitimate.
